Kanga has some interesting mods I have not seen anywhere else. It's definitely a faster/higher skill gain than some out there.
Sklo is definitely more populated, if you are looking for a larger community. I play on Sklotopolis and the KangaWU servers.
There are a few really great servers out there with a decent player base. My advice is to go with Wurm Unlimited and find a good server to play with others.
